Dear
Friends and Family,
How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but
you, as we have heard with our own ears.
I am
writing you all now to ask you for prayer for our dear, little Zoe. Today we traveled
to Banska Bystrica for a checkup with Zoe’s cardiologist. After looking at her
ultrasound he determined that it would be in Zoe’s best interest to go to
Bratislava for an operation to close one of the defects (PDA) in Zoe’s heart
with a clip.
Tomorrow
we will travel to Bratislava (the capital, about 3 hours drive) and check Zoe
into the hospital tomorrow morning. After she has several visits with doctors
and has some tests done they will determine the best time for the procedure.
The recovery (without complications) can be 3 to 5 days. It is a common procedure
and is done very frequently with good results, but like with all procedures of
the heart it is serious.
There is
also a small possibility that they will decide to go ahead and operate on the
other defect (VSD) requiring open-heart surgery, but we won’t know anything until
we get there.
I will
be staying in the hospital to be close but husbands are not allowed so Chello
will need to find a different place to stay. He will be around during visiting
hours, but I’ll be there alone nights and mornings. This is going to be a
challenge with my Slovak not being so great, but God is good and I know He has
a plan in all of this.
Please
be praying for wisdom for the doctors, a quick recovery for Zoe and peace and
faith for Chello and I.
Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord,
for he is good; his love endures forever.
