Zoe in the hospital
Dear Friends and family,
Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every creature and breath of all mankind.
Job 12:9-10
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; you works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalm 139:13-14
So, here is what we know so far…
For sure Zoe will be having open heart surgery in the very near future. After some tests they determined that she needs to have everything fixed now and in one operation.
Also today Zoe had her ultrasound buy the cardio specialist and they found another defect in her heart. Her pulmonary artery seems to be smaller/tighter than it should be. This also needs to be fixed by surgery and will be taken care of during the other two procedures.
So they will be fixing the PDA by clip, VSD with a patch and opening up the pulmonary artery.
Monday a group of pediatric cardiologists/surgeons will be meeting and they will discuss Zoe’s case and determine the best time for the operation. Until then we will just be in the hospital.
On the plus side, it looks like God is providing an opportunity to be a light to a group of young people. So far we have been making friends with some young people who are stuck in hospital for different heart issues. Tomorrow Chello and I are going to try and teach them some cards games and entertain them for a while. This I believe is a special case because there are no young dads (like Chello) hanging around and I think he has a very special opportunity to share Jesus with the teenage boys that are there. There are also several teenage girls there who are very sweet and don’t seems to be intimidated by the fact that I am American. SO, Chello and I are praying that Jesus will use Zoe’s sickness and this time to make us a light.
Thank you all for the prayers for our dear sweet Zoe. Chello and I find great comfort in knowing that so many are lifting our precious daughter up and going to God in her behalf. We are truly grateful for every note of encouragement sent and all the help financially and through prayer that we have been receiving. We are so blessed that God has been providing through all of you. We cannot thank you all enough.
God bless you and please continue to keep Zoe in your prayers.
