June Update

Dear Friends and Family,

But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children, to those who keep His covenant and remember to do His commandments.

Finally I can say the days are warm, the sun is bright and Veľky Krtiš is coming back to life after a long winter season. Much has changed in the last few months and we are still trying to find our groove in all of it. But God is doing some amazing things here in VK and I am happy to share some of that with you.

Our life group is going really well. Right now we have five of us meeting regularly, but always there seems to be a visitor. Many of the visitors are former students from English camp coming to see us. In the last four months we have had five former students come and visit life group; one being my friend ,Iveka, (who lives in a village about ten minutes from here). We weren’t sure this group was going to work when we started it almost two year ago but are so happy to see God blessing it.

And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

As always Chello is keeping himself very busy. About three months ago, Chello was offered a job working as a Social Liaison for the Ministry of Health. This means he helps people with medical, hygienic and social needs who can’t help themselves. For example: people who don’t have computers or phones who aren’t getting the care they deserve because they cannot research things for themselves; or helping people with disabilities that can’t get themselves to the doctor. God has really been blessing him with this work and given him a lot of chances to be a light to people around him. I can see how God is using Chello in this position to really make a difference in people’s lives.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

I am also is a state of transition now that Chello is working fulltime, I am a fulltime mom. Slowly,  I am removing myself from different responsibilities to make sure I am fulfilling my responsibilities as a wife and mother first and foremost. This has not kept me from doing ministry though, I am just super picky about how I use my time now; so when we go outside I call my friend Lubka and have her bring her son, or I take the kids to the village to run around Iveka’s house and play with her dogs. My heart still really longs for the lost here so I try and find ways the kids and I can minister together.
The biggest transition for me is I have formally resigned from my position as English Camp Coordinator. This summer will be my 19th year of doing camps and my last year running camps. I am sad to say goodbye to something that has been such a huge part of my life, but I have complete peace that God is telling me it’s time to move on.

Let them praise His name with dancing, making melody to Him with tambourine and lyre!

Zoe is doing very well. She has made a full recovery from her last surgery and is healthy and strong. Zoe will be having a checkup in Bratislava for her heart in the next few weeks and I am pretty sure we will get then date for her next surgery then. She is doing really well in preschool; her Slovak is improving rapidly and I am sure she will be speaking a lot better than me soon. She had a performance at school for Mother’s Day and even had her first solo. She loves to sing and dance all around the house. She still loves all things unicorn and her favorite movie is the My Little Pony Movie. She is a very patience and loving big sister and a huge helper for me around the house.

Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; You have given the command to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress.

Rocky is a ball of endless energy! He is super independent and fearless. He loves to be outside and exploring. He loves catching bugs, climbing and getting dirty. He is still not able to communicate, but he is able to learn songs, so we do a lot of singing. Also he can count to 20 and knows the entire alphabet. Rocky’s favorite move is The Greatest Showman and he loves to sing and dance along to it. While we are in Bratislava we will have two visits to the Autism Center where hopefully we will learn more tools how to best help Rocky in his learning and development. Also we are trying to figure out how to make a “Safety Sleeper” or a “Noah Bed” for him. No such thing exists in Slovakia and he is going to figure out that he can get out of his pack-n-play very soon. This will be an issue for us because if he is not contained he won’t fall asleep.

Then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their plea, and maintain their cause

Prayer Requests~

The Lord will lead our steps and we will let Him

For continued blessings at Chello’s work and lots of opportunities to share Jesus with those he helps

For my friends Lubka and Iveka to know Jesus

Continued health for Zoe

That we will be able to find and afford the supplies to make Rocky’s bed

I have been dealing with some health issues. The doctors haven’t been able to figure out what is causing it but I will be seeing a specialist next week. Please pray for answers and wisdom for the doctors

Thank you all once again for your support, prayer and patience. I know I don’t write as much as I should. I hope to find a more solid routine soon that will help me to communicate better. But I am so grateful for all the note of encouragement and to know we have so many going to their knees on our behalf. We love and appreciate you all.
