Big news / new season.
Dear
Friends and family,
He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go
down.
New
seasons and new big changes are happening in the Johnson’s lives. Spring has
officially arrived both on the calendar and in the weather; the warmth always
presents more opportunities for us to serve and love in Veľky Krtiš.
There is a
time for everything, and a season
for every activity under the heavens: a time to be
born and a time to die, a time to
plant and a time to uproot,
The
biggest change that has us all reeling now is we will be moving to Arizona May
30th. It was so sudden even for us. When we started the process we
thought we would have more time; but changes in the immigration department and
their laws and processes have made it all happen so suddenly.
There
are many contributing factors that lead us to this move. But the biggest one
and the one God keeps confirming, though, is Rocky. Literally every doctor,
specialist and therapist we take him to keep telling us the best thing we can
do for him is to go to America; and for the amount of prayer prayed on Rocky’s
behalf it is hard to deny that God is using them to lead us in this direction.
Chello
has already been approved for a green card and in less than 60 days we will be
moving. The thought is so overwhelming and so many mixed emotions flowing
through us. We are excited to move beyond words but also feel a very deep
sadness to leave Veľky Krtiš.
Whatever you do, work at it with
all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
Though
we are leaving, we have not “checked out” of the ministry here. Chello is still
working and will continue to do so until May 10th. He is however,
moving at lightning speed to make sure the projects he has started will
continue to work after he has gone. He was able to meet with the mayor of VK
last week to finalize the details of the Autism Center that will start in
January of 2020. Also he still has a very real presence in the gypsy community
that will continue until we leave.
John 15:12 New International Version
(NIV)
12 My command is this: Love each other
as I have loved you.
I am
still pouring myself into my two friends who are not believers: Lubka and
Ivetka. I am with them with any chance I get and doing my best to love them and
tell them the good news. Even this weekend I am taking Zoe for a ladies
sleepover at Ivetka’s house. Also, I am still mentoring Niki and serving with
her as often as I can. Right now we are studying the book of Mark together and
my hope is that it will equip and inspire her for the ministry even after I am
gone. They are all very sad that I am leaving but I know that even an ocean
between us wont effect how I love them and pray for them.
God is within her, she will
not fall; God will help her at break of day.
Zoe went
for her CT scan a few weeks ago, and we now have the date for her next
operation. She will go for the stint in her pulmonary artery on April 15th.
Even though this is her 6th operation she is not scared or worried
at all; she handled the CT like a champ. She is still completely obsessed with
unicorns and superheroes and she can’t wait to move to America and play with
her cousins there. Typical of a first born my five and a half year old has
already started making me an inventory of the stuffed animals that have to come
with us.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
Rocky is
HUGE! He is easily the biggest kid in his class though he is not the oldest.
Niki is his assistant at his school and every day when I pick him up she
reports every achievement he made that day. He is still not talking but more
and more he is interacting with people other than us; asking (in his way) other
kids to play with him and such. Singing and dancing are still his favorite
things to do, almost every night after bath we turn on the music and Zoe and
Rocky have a dance party. He is a big ball (getting bigger by the day) of
energy and always has us on the move.
For this reason, since the day we heard
about you, we have not stopped praying for you.
We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will
through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,
Rejoice always, pray continually,
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ
Jesus.
Special
request ~
Those of
you who are supporting us financially we ask if you are able please continue
until July. It will take at least a month (maybe more) after arriving in the
U.S. for Chello to get his green card and social security to start working.
This will help us not deplete our savings before he can get work. Also it will
help in buying a car and other things we will need.
Prayer
requests ~
That the
Lord will lead our steps and we will let him.
Please
prayer for Zoe’s operation. Wisdom for doctors. Peace for Mom and Dad. And
quick recovery and no complications for Zoe.
Please
pray for all the loose ends we need to tie up here in the next two months. And
again for peace that God has this all under control.
Thank
you all so much for your prayers and support. God has used you all in big ways
in the ministry in VK. And we are grateful beyond words for you all. This will
not be my last update letter from VK. I will let you all know how Zoe’s
operation goes and how are final days in this ministry look.
Thank
you all again!
