Dear
Friends and family,
The Lord your
God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in
you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with
singing.”
This
will be our last update from this side of the ocean. We still have so many
mixed feelings about moving, but don’t seem to have time to dwell on them. Not
so slowly every free moment is getting booked up with packing, selling,
visiting others and people coming to say good bye to us. Even in all the
madness God is still so gracious and continues to bless us and gives us
opportunities to share His love.
If you do this and God so commands, you
will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied.”
Exodus 18:23
Chello has officially left his job and his
new full-time job is going around and saying his good byes. As most of you know
Chello is related to a HUGE portion of Veľky Krtiš and has Rocky-Star status in
this town; now that we are in our last two weeks here, there is no shortage of
requests for his time and company. On top of that he has been very present in
helping me pack up our house and selling the furniture. For one of his good bye
parties he is going to play an acoustic concert in our most popular coffee
shop.
Lord, by such things people live; and my spirit finds life in them too. You
restored me to health and let me live.
Isaiah 38:16
My fulltime job is still motherhood but I
have added the title of professional packer to it, as well. We are only taking
to AZ what fits in or luggage; so I have been going through the whole house
trying to fit 9 years into 8 50lbs bags. I also have been working in my good
byes every chance I get. For one of my good bye parties I was given the
opportunity to have a showing at a local gallery. This was actually my first
solo showing and has always been a dream of mine. Many people came from all
over Slovakia to
support me and say farewell; it was a really blessed and special memory that I will always cherish. My
art hung there for a week and I sold 12 paintings, that is the gallery’s new
record.
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Proverbs 16:24
I know you all have been anxious to hear
about Zoe and her surgery. There was a lot of back and forth with the doctors
in Bratislava but ultimately there were not able to give us a concrete date for
her surgery. They had so many urgent cases coming in that they are sending
children home without their surgeries and are rescheduling. Because of this we
decided it would be best for Zoe if we wait until we are in Arizona and get her
to a cardiologist there ASAP. This means I will try and get us on AHCCHS
healthcare until Chello can find work with healthcare benefits. But it also
means that she will have follow up with the surgeons who operated on her, not a
whole new set of doctors.
Surely you have granted him unending
blessings and made him glad with
the joy of your presence.
Psalm 21:6
Rocky is taking the move so well. Slowly our
furniture in disappearing and the walls getting bare but he actually loves the
open space and is running free. We are never really sure how he might react to
big changes, but so far he has stayed his happy and excited self. We even had
special shirts made for the airplane and traveling to help give Rocky the best
travel experience we can. Though we are still pretty nervous about the
traveling, Rocky has a way of pleasantly surprising us; and we know that we are
traveling with higher power.
“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name,
Your kingdom come, Your will be
done,
Matthew 6:9-10
Prayer requests~

lead our steps on this and the other side of the ocean

for Zoe and for us to be able to get her in to a doctor as soon as possible
Smooth travels for the
whole family, but especially Rocky
For Chello and I to
manage our time well these last few days and for continued peace as get ready
to move
For the green card
paperwork to go through smoothly and quickly and for God to provide the best job
for Chello
From them will come songs
of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their
numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will
not be disdained.
Thank you all so very much for all the
prayers, words of encouragement and support given to us over the years. God has
truly blessed us through your generosity and faithfulness. We are grateful
beyond words!
